I know there is more posts in the forums about this topic. Perhaps you have other files that's better to move to a second drive? So is it worth it?īy setting the install path for the VST2 install in Arturia Sofware Centers preferences to the folder you use you will prevent update and upgrade issues. Once it is done, the button will be replaced by the mention Installed. I would not recommend to install anything on a second drive, but you should not get install issues, if you had your VST2 plugins installed on a second drive, except they perhaps will load slower. Find your sound bank and click on the Install button that replaced the previous Buy button. I'm not sure if there is a none Arturia solution to move things from the fixed paths. So there really is'nt much space to save. So the only thing you can change in the install is the standalone application (if you install in a way to allow this) and the VST2 plugins, and that together is less than 1 GB. The Arturia V Collection features over 30 virtual instruments in a bundle with over 9000 sounds. VST3 plugins in generel also have a fixed install path. If you haven’t tried Analog Lab before, I suggest giving it a go in my opinion, Arturia’s collection delivers some of the best free virtual instrument sounds available. Most of the full install size of V-Collection 7 is on a fixed install path in the hidden Windows ProgramData folder. In one last bit of news, Analog Lab V will become Analog Lab Pro with this new update. Analog Lab Play features 100 new presets from the flagship V Collection and Pigments. However, it’s a bit of a pain to get it to play nicely with Analog Lab VSTit does work, it just isn’t as convenient as it ought to be and setting up the VST isn’t all that intuitive. Of course, as beneficial as a sleek new interface is, we need some new sounds, too, and we get everything from trap bass to ambient synth pads. The MiniLab seems to work great in FL as a generic controller. I’ve been a fan of Analog Lab for a while, and I think it was always pretty user-friendly anyway, but the Play View will be great for beginners and anyone who spends more time trying to craft the perfect sound than playing. As part of the release day announcement, Arturia also revealed that existing Analog Lab V and Intro users would get a free update, giving them access to the minimalist Play View within their current version. The concept behind Analog Lab Play is in the name it’s about playing, immediate access, and immediate creativity.Īlthough Analog Lab Play is a freebie, it seems that Arturia is heavily invested in the Play concept. This simplified approach might reduce some elements of complete control for some users, but a simple approach often gives us more creative freedom as we’re less likely to get in our own way. The simplified GUI features only the most essential macro controls for each preset, and like previous versions, browsing presets is easy. With that in mind, the question is, why do we need another version? Well, the new simplified interface appears to hold the answer.Īrturia designed Analog Lab Play’s minimalist interface to provide quick and intuitive control over every sound. This amazing software instrument also features perfect integration with Arturia controller keyboards, and seamless compatibility with other brands too. Given its popularity, I’m sure most of you know that this latest release isn’t the first free version on offer.Īnalog Lab Intro is a free, downsized version of Analog Lab V typically bundled with Arturia MIDI keyboard controllers (before that, it was Analog Lab Lite). Featuring a Concert mode and Stage view, Analog Lab lets you organize your sets and sounds so you can use legendary synths and keyboards playing live. The most significant news is the release of Analog Lab Play, a free and simplified version of Arturia’s virtual keyboard/synth collection.Īnalog Lab has been around for years (in various versions), and it remains a go-to source of authentic vintage keyboard/synth sounds for many musicians. On 31st October 2023, Arturia introduced a few important additions and updates to the Analog Lab family. Arturia introduces Analog Lab Play, a FREE version of the production-standard Analog Lab plugin.
